Kari Sam Wuhrer born April 28, 1968 is an American singer and actress. Wuhrer started her career when she was just a teen. She is best known for playing Maggie Beckett on the TV series Sliders as well in the role of Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was born within Brookfield Connecticut as her mother was Karin Noble and worked as a pay clerk and German American Andrew Wuhrer. She is the youngest of three children. In her teens She performed in nightclubs when she escaped from her home. After studying acting at the Wooster School from 13 years old she pursued a degree in drama at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the renowned Uta Hagen. Born on April 28, 1967 at Brookfield Connecticut. She is the daughter of an American-born father from Germany as well as a mother from Germany. Kari is the youngest of three children. In her teens, she performed in nightclubs in secret, escaping to do so. Kari at the time was 13 years old, attended the Wooster School as well as the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She took drama classes at Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, Marymount Manhattan College College, plus at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where she had a teacher who was known for her work as Uta. Kari started acting when she was aged a teenager. Her first television break was in 1987's MTV's Remote Control.
